Yahoo News chose this AFP picture to go along with the Jordanian romance story. Is this a fair representation of Jordanian women? I think not. And you wonder how stereotypes are created! Hat tip: [Scooby] |

Jareer,
I am sorry but the (!) is used when the written comment is supposed to be understood as a yell or a very very loud comment. They are used to empasize very strong feelings. So, in a discussion like this, when strong feelings are used and some peolpe make mean comments, i take it as someone is yelling at me or is using a harsh tone, which i think should not be used in a friendly discussion 🙂
Linda,
I think you have a chronic problem with the (!). It looks like no body understands it or uses it in the way you understand it. I had to write you why, and when I use it and what my teachers taught me when I should use it and when I should not. Now you are jumping on Arash and maybe eventually all the participants in this blog. You might be right, and we all wrong. Maybe your teachers in L.A have taught you so; sorry to have to explain this for the second time.
I only yell in capital letters, cheer up 😉
Arash, if you noticed in many of my comments on this blogg, i dont like it when people yell at me. it gets me evry sad 🙁
Come on Linda! The translation that you wanted is there, along with some, er, rather interesting side notes. And Jeff, they’ve got the Book of Mormon too, might come handy one day 😉
Jareer,
I totally agree on the two masters issue. The Quran helped me understand life in Jordan and the mindset of my neighbors. But, it is the Bible that radically transformed/s my life, and yes, I encourage anyone who asks or wants to listen to read it. Watching the power of that transformation in process is my greatest passion in life. (and my dear hubby, too)
yeah arash, that was a big “help” thanks alot
