Dear All,
We would like to announce our resignation from Fox News in Amman. Although we never actually worked for your organization, we helped for the past three years in facilitating your work in the Middle East. We base our decision on moral issues. We can no longer work with a news organization that claims to be fair and balanced when you are so far from that. Not only are you an instrument of the Bush White House, and Israeli propaganda, you are war mongers with no sense of decency, nor professionalism. You have crossed all borders and red lines.
An Arab mother cries over the death of her child very much like an American and Israeli mother. Arab blood is not cheap, and we are not barbarians. You ought to be more responsible and have more decency when you take one side against the other. You have a role to play and a responsibility to shoulder for the sake of your very naive viewers. Throughout the three years we worked with you, and helped you, we thought you would develop a degree of respect [for] people in this part of the world. But the disdain and blatant one-sided coverage of all Mideast conflicts only highlights your total lack of humanity and bias toward Israel.
Your lack of professionalism has made you a [source] of ridicule throughout the world. Your inexperienced anchors with their racist comments are not only a shameful scar on the American Media, they simply represent state run Television networks in countries you despise in the Middle East. Finally, our decision again is based on moral and professional basis and from now on we will no longer help in any Fox related matters.
Serene Sabbagh
Jomana Karadsheh

Wow! These two journalists are making a very forceful statement. I doubt this will have any actual impact on Fox’s coverage but one can hope.
UPDATE: The media professional web resource Media Bistro has picked up the story, reporting that:
"Sabbagh appeared on FNC, including The O’Reilly Factor, last November after the Jordanian hotel blasts. This April blog entry on FOXNews.com identifies Karadsheh as a "Jordanian producer for Fox." Update: 6:56pm: "Karadsheh has been Fox’s producer inside the Saddam trial," a tipster adds. Karadsheh has also worked for CNN, as recently as last week in Baghdad."

Hey Hey!
you people are straying way of subject here ! this aint another post of Hezbollah being terrorists or not !
it is about people who have not worked in Fox news resigning from it. now that is naive altho the ideal they are writing this for is unskewed it still is a naive act, since at the end of the day it will amount to nothing.
ok as for Fox news not being different than CNN
Quote “They may have a few more conservative commentators, but nothing I hear sounds any worse than CNN – who I used to watch till I found out they sold out Iraq.”
Hey i bet plenty if not all of the democrats will flame you for this, just think back to election time and remember some of the comments kelly received on Fox news compared to CNN. and that carries over for comments made about the middle east.
as for claiming that the target audiance of Fox news not being naive is just funny to me, come on, these are the same people that elected Bush for gods sake. on the other hand they are the type of people that won’t change regardless.
I wander if this Jomana Karadsheh the same person that works for CNN?
Mark,
I love your comment, man. I also demand my paycheck, though here I think it should be deposited in my account by a company called “Arab Conspiracy Theorists.” What do you think?
liquid,
Six countries have designated “part or all” of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. You know the naive world that will say just because an organization comments terrorist acts doesn’t mean that the whole organization are terrorist!
Even the EU officially designates one of Hezbollahs top pricks a terrorists.
So who is being naive here?
We can agree on … “Hook um Horns” though
Yep, tblubrd, you are pretty naive.
are the ONLY countries that officially classify Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.
Unfortunately, your own ignorance is showing. Canada also considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization, a few other countries consider the security/combat wing of Hezbollah a terrorist organization. Most European Union countries agree that Hezbollah does engage in terrorist activities even if the organization isn’t on any official list. Many countries also list the director of a large portion of Hezbollah’s terrorist activities, Imad Mugniyeh, to be a terrorist.
The fact that Russia and China may not consider Hezbollah terrorist is unsurprising. Both countries have strong ties to Syria and Iran.
tblubrd:
You pretty much answer your own question:
“Whose naive? . . . Many Arabs don’t think Hezbollah is a terrorist group. Much of the free world disagrees . . . So who’s naive? Me”
Yep, tblubrd, you are pretty naive. Much of the free world? Where do you get that BS? Is it from FAUX or the talking points handed out by the IDF? How about America (pop. 298,213,000) and Israel (pop. 6,725,000) are the ONLY countries that officially classify Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.
In fact, the last time I checked, the EU had a population of 457,514,494, and . . . wow . . . they do not classify Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. Are they part of the free world? That sure sounds like almost a half billion people there. Definitely a majority over the war hawks in America and Israel.
What about Russia (pop. 143,202,000) and China (pop. 1,315,844,000)? Hmmm . . . you guessed it . . . they do not classify Hezbollah as a terrorist organization either. Give me some rhetoric about those countries are not free and you will play your Cold War mentality card. That war is over, so the neo-cons, et al just need to feed people like you some other BS to get you all in a twitter and you follow blindly without question. Ah, you are just naive. I forgot. Hmmm . . . do you know how many billions Russia (the second largest producer of oil in the world and holder of 35% of the world’s natural gas) is making off our little adventures in the Middle East? Check it out. But, I digress . . . back to your naivete . . .
“The art of practical politics is to keep the public in a state of constant alarm by menacing it with hobgoblins – both real and imagined – making people clamorous to be led to safety.” (H.L. Mencken, 1923).
Do some independent research, read a freaking book, open your mind, quit believing everything someone spoon feeds you, and make a decision on your own. Every side doles out propaganda. The truth lies somewhere in the middle of all the BS.

Hook ‘Em Horns!!!!
Assad is the natural choice
PEACE To Lebanon
I haven’t commented here very often but, come on Natasha. How dumb is this? They are going to quit working for somebody they didn’t work for? That’s embarrassing to print. And I don’t get all the ache you have over Fox – I don’t think they are any better, or worse, than ANY of the Antique Media outlets. They may have a few more conservative commentators, but nothing I hear sounds any worse than CNN – who I used to watch till I found out they sold out Iraq.
And this part really takes the cake:
You have a role to play and a responsibility to shoulder for the sake of your very naive viewers. Throughout the three years we worked with you, and helped you, we thought you would develop a degree of respect [for] people in this part of the world. But the disdain and blatant one-sided coverage of all Mideast conflicts only highlights your total lack of humanity and bias toward Israel.
Whose naive? The journalists whining about Fox? And then there’s that respect thing again. Why is it that Arabs come unglued over a discussion with someone who disagrees with them? Many Arabs don’t think Hezbollah is a terrorist group. Much of the free world disagrees – and have been on the receiving end of Hezbollah too many times to think otherwise. The free world has no respect for Hezbollah – and that’s where it ends. It doesn’t include ALL Arabs. It’s very specific – and terrorists kill Arabs as much as non-Arabs. I have Muslim friends who hate Hezbollah as much as I do. I’m an American. So who’s naive? Me or the journalists?
As they say over at LGF, “where is my paycheck?”
Wow, someone must be skimming off my money from Israel, because I haven’t seen any of it.
Where’s my *&#^in’ money?!?
