While browsing through Amazon the other day, I came across a book entitled He Died with a Falafel in His Hand. And then, low and behold, I found out that they’d actually made the book into a movie, described as "a nightmare chase through hell in a never-ending, unrequited daisy chain of desire …" And better still, the film version (at least) "leaves the viewer entertained, exhausted and surprisingly reflective."
For some reason I found this to be extremely amusing. Without knowing anything about the book, I added it to my wish list (hint hint). It just sounds like too much fun!
WOW drew, this is a very generous offer:) I will take it:) so thank you:) I will send you an e-mail with the details;)
I remeber picking up that book when I was in .Au in 99. Very strange book and some true accounts of roommate life. Just remebered that part where it was that war going on and there was no heat so all the people against him were all in this one room sharing their own heat, while the rest were freezing.
Didn’t the title come from a short in the book about a herion addict?
Now I have to go find that book in my mess of a room and read it again.
Hi there,
This is indeed a very funny book and movie. It’s about the age-old (western) experience of living in share houses while going through university. It happens to be set in Australia, as the author is Australian, but I’m sure others have similar experiences all around the world.
I actually have two copies of the book (from a “house amalgamation” of my own), so I can send you one if you’d like, then you don’t have to worry about people looking at your wishlist and trying to decide which thing to get you .. :->

That book/film does sound funny, but I’m writing because of a webmaster problem.
For some reason the L column of your blog is taking up a space or two more room and making the first letter or two in the body of the blog inaccessible. Can’t scroll and see those letters.
