The global web blog community is being called into action to lend support to two imprisoned Iranian bloggers. The month-old Committee to Protect Bloggers’ is asking those with blogs to dedicate their sites on 22 February to the "Free Mojtaba and Arash Day." Arash Sigarchi and Mojtaba Saminejad are both in prison in Iran.

I would like to add my voice to those concerned and demand the immediate release of Arash and Motjaba. For more information read this and this.
No, you can’t be “fine” and a political prisoner in the Islamic Republic at the same time, that’d be an oxymoron! And no internet either, prisoners are only given controlled and sometimes fabricated news to break their morale. Regardless, do try to get in Jareer 😉
Are you fine in prison-you mean ? Wow , do they have internet in prison too? That is so advanced ! How do I qualify for getting there !
No I’m quite fine everyone, I mean I just commented up there 🙂
Arash is a mystical archer that is said to have saved Iran from a Turanian (Turkic) invasion.
Wendy,
That’s not the same Arash from Mental Mayhem. It is a different one. I think Arash is a popular Persian name.
At first read I was going “The Arash from Mayhem?” no way! Yes, way, and I’ll be finding where the Iranian Embassy in Amman is to speak up (well, my husband will, to make one witness instead of a half one).
Arash, Arash’s mom and fam, our prayers are with you.
with you on this one mate.
Oh yes Jareer, you have to check out our cell’s internet access. It’s lightening fast 😉
Here is a Google cache of Arash’s weblog, his website has been inaccessible these past hours. And a new weblog that Mojtaba started just 2 days before his second detention. His first weblog was taken over while he was in prison and it now redirects to a page for the “Saheb Alzaman’s (Mahdi) Army”.
Thanks for the support Natasha.
Is it the same Arash who is a frequent visitor of this blog? I hope not (or maybe I do 🙂 .)
