Egyptian Doctors Remove Baby’s Second Head
BENHA, Egypt — Egyptian doctors said they removed a second head from a 10-month-old girl suffering from one of the rarest birth defects in an operation Saturday … Manar Maged was in a serious but improving condition after the procedure to treat her for craniopagus parasiticus — a problem related to that of conjoined twins linked at the skull.
"We are still working on the baby. After surgery … you get unstable blood pressure, you get fever. But she is stabilizing," paediatric consultant Abla el-Alfy said. "We have some improvement."

I think they got rid of it 🙁 They had no choice I guess.
umm what happens to the other head?
The doctors claim only 180 such cases have been documented since the first century BC…
Hubby,
So far so good. Egyptian press says she is doing well.

There are a few post-op pictures.
Such a disturbing image. I always wonder when I see such things if they are happening more frequently (and we should be worried) or id our exposure and access to these things is just that much greater, so we hear about things we might not have before the Internet/information overload.
And yes, God help this poor girl. I do hope if anything has come from the global press for technology, it’s that someone like this young girl can be helped to live a somewhat normal life.
Thank you metalordie for linking us to a story that explains in detail.
I share your thoughts jareer. WE should count our blessings al the time and all ways hope for the best and strive for the better.
I would like to submit http://tinyurl.com/6yjx9 as a more accurate version with interviews with he drs in Egypt themselves.
Toodles
oops ! its one girl .
When we take things for granted; health, good life, wealth, and friends;we even complain for the smallest things, just look around and count your blessings. May God bring a speedy recovery for those girls, and give the wisdom for their doctors, and hope to their parents.
