I just read that Bahrain has unfurled the world’s largest flag (below), measuring 169.5 metere, beating Pakistan’s record. A year and a half or so ago, Jordan put up the world’s tallest flag pole. Correct me if I’m wrong, but is there a flag competition I’m unaware of going on nowadays? I still like Jordan’s flag display more. Yes, I’m biased. |
Jordanian Pride! Long live jordan. I agree with you their is a flag race! There is one also in AbuDhabi-UAE, Bahrain as you said is doing one. Its a nice way to press the identity of a country into its land.
You are not wrong, it seems that Bahrain has the world’s largest flag now!
But Before The tallest flagpole is at Panmunjon, North Korea, near the border of South Korea. It is 160 m high and flies a flag 30 m long!!!
Who is next, it seems that countries goes beyond poverty and everyone has a job now … so they have more interesting things to take care of such as the tallest flag! what next???!!
Oh, come on Jeff! Self-censorship on a weblog? And that was the juicy bit!
I am all for Jordanian pride, but I think that money could have been put to better use.
I always thought Jordan’s need for the world’s biggest flagpole was a bit Freudian.
