Ha! As your Aunt Betty would say. I knew there was chicanery somewhere! Good for you to think of using a longer exposure! I do love the tree.

Fake? Darn that tree looks real. Something abot the way brances are positioned makes it look so real. But that true. I should of thought of the fact that Doha probably does not even grow that type of tree. 🙂
I hate to disappoint Linda, but it is a fake tree. That’s really the only thing you can get here.

It is such a pretty tree. It’s a real tree, ha? It is good that some people are still using real trees. Out here in L.A., the fake tree industry is making big profits off of Californians.
Mabrook and Merry Christmas!
I’m sort of the guilty party on this. Nope. It’s not digitally enhanced. But there was some trickery. It’s a time exposure. The only decent lights we could find are those flicking on/off type (they even have music, though you can turn it off). The lights flick in three sections. So you can imagine to get a photo with all three lights on at the same time will require a little something extra.
So, I plopped the camera on a tripod and gave it a second and a half to get all the light. That made a few sections a bit “gleamy” because they had the longest exposure. That and the fact that the lights aren’t your classic red, green, blue (more pinks and variations on a theme) makes it have a “unique” Doha flavor.
But I like Roba’s assessment that it’s a happy tree. I’ll be taking more pictures of it soon for an upcoming assignment from the wife. But I needed to take this one right away so she could post that it was up! And believe it or not we’ve got a few more decorations.
As for the wiggling, I’m not sure. It’s a progressive JPEG file. So if you double clicked it, maybe it’s downloading again and doing that fuzzy pixel to sharp that progressives do. Mystery revealed 🙂
Ok, I got some suspicions about that tree.
Could it be that it has a few digital enhancements?
And why does it wiggle when you double click on the enlarged image?
hmmmmm

Roba,
Merry Christmas to you too.
Amal,
You can come over anytime. You don’t need an invitation.

Lol, that’s a very colorfully happy tree 🙂
