While browsing through Chan’ad’s blog, I realized that the Jordan First campaign might have left its mark on the people of Bahrain. Chan’ad took a picture of a Bahrain First sign displayed along the side of a Bahrain street (on the right) and posted it on his blog. I’ve put it here alongside the Jordanian original for comparison.
And some say Jordanians are not creative?!?
Zaid,
Putting the goodwill of your country FIRST is not racism, it is nationalism, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
how the hell does it promote racism?
sadly this “ First” slogan only promotes racism, too bad people don’t realize that.
ah…
Egyptians also used the same line…

Do you remember this flag story that the wife wrote about some time back. That’s Bahrain again, trying to top Jordan. It’s kinda curious isn’t it. They go for the biggest flag (though I believe the kingdom *ahem* still has the biggest flag pole) and now they seem to be co-opting this “first” idea.
And yes, without bias the Jordan logo is fantastic. I wish we had a close-up so you could see that the hands on the flagpole 🙂 are from all walks of life. This logo was really given the treatment, the whole concept really worked over before its release. I guess Bahrain was paying attention.
Ours is better
i say this with an utter disregard for my obvious bias 😀
i think it’s halarious that bahrain felt the need to d it. jordan was the only country to actually say out load what every other arab nation had been already doing for decades before it….looking after “number one”
Of course Jordanians are very creative.
I understand who the ‘Jordan First’ campaign is directed at…but who is it targeting in Bahrain?
LOL … good point Roba:)
Haha, well, at least we have MUCH better graphic design.
